Update on the Agency Workers Directive
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has brought a delegation from its Agency Work Commission to discuss the second reading of the Agency Workers Directive. Whilst the REC continues to look at how best the Directive can be implemented in the UK, the directive itself still needs to be finalized.
The delegation from the REC met with key Members of the European Parliament and the Commission to ensure that the current deal, with agency workers receiving equal treatment after 12 weeks, stays in place. If the European Parliament starts to amend the Directive, the deal could be jeopardized.
